Tourism is a community matter where the French Community has transferred responsibility for the French linguistic region to the Walloon Region.

Thus the Walloon Region is responsible for the tourism policy of the French linguistic region, and the German-speaking Community for the German linguistic region. The communes may play the role of organising and co-subsidising authority.
